My name is Jessica and I am the founder and creator of First Paws Canine Photography. I am located in Davison Michigan and travel to you! I started this business with a simple goal- to help breeders capture the earliest most meaningful moments of every litter with patience, care, and respect for the work breeders put into raising healthy, well loved puppies.

I have personally have spent over 12 years around breeding and raising puppies, giving me a deep understanding of the care, patience, sanitation, and dedication that goes into every litter. Throughout that time, I’ve gained extensive experience photographing puppies from newborn through adulthood, with a particular speciality in capturing the crucial first eight weeks. I know first hand that photographing puppies can be challenging, unpredictable, and time-consuming. With my background in puppy handling and positioning, I’m able to work calmly and efficiently to create images that truly showcase each puppy’s best traits.

My knowledge comes not only from photography but hands-on-experience. I’ve bred various dog breeds throughout my life and currently share my home with two Bernese Mountain Dogs. This practical background allows me to approach every session with confidence, respect, and an understanding of the breeder’s perspective. I also understand how important it is to ensure all items used are throughly cleaned and that a puppy’s health is top priority.

I’m happy to collaborate with breeders who have inspiration photos or specific ideas in mind, and I work closely with clients to bring their vision to life. At the same time, creativity is a big part of my process- I can provide suggestions and concepts to help shape the look and feel of your session. Whether your interested in seasonal styling, themed setups, unique prop ideas, or just even just basic back drops, I’m flexible and excited to design something that reflects your ideas and goals.

By traveling directly to your location, I photograph puppies in a familiar, low-stress environment in a timely manner so that they can stay comfortable and relaxed. My goal is to provide you with stunning, eye-catching, professional photos that support your program- whether for listings, marketing, send home gifts, or simply just preserving these fleeting early memories.
